Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Sarasota, Fla., Universal North America is a wholly owned subsidiary of Puerto Rico’s largest property insurance company, Universal Group. In ten short years, Universal North America has grown from writing property and casualty insurance in Florida only to writing multiple product lines in 17 states. Currently offered are Homeowners, Dwelling Fire, Condominium, Renters, Lessor’s Protection, Flood, and Businessowner/Commercial Residential policies (not all coverages are available in all states).
