As a Technical Writer, you will be empowered to support short and long term operational/strategic business activities; develop, enhance and maintain operational information that will have an impact on business decisions. In this leadership role, you will have the opportunity to take the contributions of analysts and staff to create valuable solutions to improve the health care system. Join us!

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct current state analysis to gather current business, functional and non-functional requirements and constraints (i.e., "as-is" state)
  • Document future state using appropriate tools/processes (e.g., "to-be" process maps)
  • Perform communications needs assessments to align with the needs of the business (e.g., surveys, focus groups, interviews)
  • Facilitate all needed requirements-gathering activities (e.g., meetings, workshops, JAD sessions)
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders (e.g., business owners, process owners, domain experts) to identify specific business requirements
  • Develop, publish, and distribute communications content (e.g., standard operating procedures, process maps, technical guides)
  • Obtain review of communications content by internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable requirements (e.g., Legal, Clinical, Compliance)
  • Manage review/revision/approval processes to ensure achievement of communications and business goals/objectives

Required Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years business requirements gathering and analysis
  • 2+ years of experience with process documentation, improvement, workflow, benchmarking and/or evaluation of business processes

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications
  • 4+ years leading cross functional team to develop future state process maps
  • Project management experience
  • Organization skills
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with senior leaders
  • Ability to learn new methodologies quickly

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
