ACWA JPIA is an award-winning risk pool serving California’s public water agencies. We are proud of our supportive, collaborative workplace and are excited to welcome a new Workers’ Compensation Examiner I or II to our Workers’ Compensation team in Roseville, CA.
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced California workers’ compensation professional who can confidently manage claims from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate exercises sound judgment in compensability decisions, reserve setting, and settlement strategy, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where organization, attention to detail, and timely communication are essential.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage the full lifecycle of workers’ compensation claims—from initial contact and investigation through resolution, including timely three-point contact and action planning
- Evaluate compensability, determine benefits, and set and adjust reserves based on ongoing claim analysis and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate medical treatment and collaborate with employers, providers, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure effective case management
- Maintain accurate documentation, manage communications, process payments, and develop settlement strategies, including subrogation and excess reporting

- WC Examiner I (non-exempt): The JPIA anticipates hiring at $93,674, which represents the top of the first third of the established salary range, $80,292 - $120,439.
- WC Examiner II (non-exempt): The JPIA anticipates hiring at $103,399, which represents the top of the first third of the established salary range, $88,628 - $132,942.

This position is located in Roseville, CA, and is full time, 40 hours per week, with hours from 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Flexible work hours might be available.
