Become a part of our caring community and help us put health firstThe Claims Research & Resolution Representative 3 manages claims operations that involve customer contact, investigation, and settlement of claims and appeals for and against the organization. The Claims Research & Resolution Representative 3 performs advanced administrative/operational/customer support duties that require independent initiative and judgment. May apply intermediate mathematical skills.
The Claims Research & Resolution Representative 3 works with insurance companies and providers in the resolution of provider appeals based on State and contractual requirements. Comprised of a group of calls/claims/provider associates researching the resolution to a pending call or request. Decisions are typically focus on methods, tactics and processes for completing appeals, task and projects. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests and interpreting and adapting procedures, processes and techniques, and works under limited guidance due to previous experience/breadth and depth of knowledge of administrative processes and organizational knowledge.

Required Qualifications
- 1 - 3 years of claims and/or appeal experience
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
- Understand and apply compliance requirements and guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Appeals experience
- Auditing experience
Key Responsibilities
- Log, review and decision provider appeals
- Works with insurance companies, providers, members, and collection services in the settlement of claims and refund requests
- Creating claims reports and submitting for adjustments
- Cross trained in multiple areas within the Claims Department
- Provide audit support

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$43,000 - $56,200 per year
