Great American's Executive Liability Division offers independent agents and brokers a specialized facility for Directors' and Officers' (D&O) Liability Insurance and related professional liability coverages, including Fiduciary Liability and Employment Practices Liability.
Executive Liability - Great American Insurance Group
The Executive Liability Division is looking for a Transactional Financial Products Underwriter to join their team! This position will be located in the Schaumburg, IL office and will work on a hybrid schedule. Remote employees may be considered as well.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Underwrites and services existing small to mid-size financial product accounts.
- Prices business in alignment with company guidelines and profitability targets. Determines terms including limits, deductibles, coverage options, and conditions.
- Analyzes submissions, financial statements, and underwriting surveys to assess risk and structure transactions.
- Recommends actions on risks exceeding authority.
- Maintains and monitors accounts using underwriting systems and tools.
- Ensures compliance with underwriting rules, rating manuals, and applicable regulations.
- Assists in providing production support to field teams, including marketing and underwriting calls with producers and insureds.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive retention and growth.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of Underwriting experience in a financial products or related disciplines is preferred. Prior insurance experience is not required.
- Scope of Job/Qualifications: Performs work under moderate supervision and technical direction. Implements, communicates, and monitors compliance of company guidelines, policies, systems, underwriting processes, procedures, legislative, regulatory, and market conduct issues. Works with authority on assignments of low to moderate technical complexity. Develops knowledge of changes in regulations, industry trends, and product developments. Ability to balance speed and accuracy in a high-volume, transactional environment. Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Foundational analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions. Position requires occasional travel.

Salary Range:
$70,000.00 -$95,000.00

Compensation varies by role, position level, and location. Individual pay is influenced by skills, education, training, certifications, experience, and the role's scope and complexity, along with business needs.
