Position Overview
Methodist Homes is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Senior Accountant to join our Mission Support Services office team. This position supports the financial operations of multiple skilled nursing and senior living facilities, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong financial performance across the organization.
This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth, with a clear pathway to executive leadership and potential advancement to a Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role in the future.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain general ledger activities for multiple facilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end close processes
Analyze financial performance and provide insight to leadership
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare regulatory requirements
Support internal and external audits
Collaborate with facility administrators and department leaders
Review and monitor accounting functions, including AP, AR, and payroll
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Experience in healthcare, senior living, or multi-entity accounting preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
