Workers' Compensation Claims Program Manager | Sacramento, CA

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Manage all aspects of pooled workers' compensation programs, including large-loss and high-profile claims, to ensure regulatory compliance and that contractual performance standards are met by third-party administrators. This role serves as a key resource for pool members, providing guidance, education, and tools that support effective communication with TPAs, strengthen understanding of the workers' compensation system, and help manage overall claim costs. The position requires strong judgment, organization, and the ability to balance evolving priorities across multiple member programs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE
- Conducts large-loss and high-profile case monitoring, on-site, on-line and by report.
- Researches and manages the RFP process for third party administrators (TPA) services based on client needs for their Workers Compensation program.
- Ensures compliance with performance standards/requirements and compliance with all state, federal and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Maintains client relationships by monitoring ancillary vendors and addresses service concerns with providers, coordinating vendor transitions,
- Develops and maintains workers' compensation management resources for members and staff including research, discussion, and presentation to applicable parties.
- Conducts oversight reviews for adherence to contract compliance, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identifies and develops training programs specifically related to oversight needs; designs training plans and materials and delivers training that meets business needs, objectives, strategies, and policies.
- Manages the program for excess claims to include accurate and current reporting, reserves, compliance, payments, and settlement.
- Monitors legislation and changes in state and federal laws while working with clients on how these changes will impact their workers' compensation programs or services provided by their TPA.
- Presents at client board meetings, association, or other public events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing: Seven to nine (7-9) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $100,000 to $105,000 USD annual salary . Bonus eligible role. A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
