Join a global insurance company as an Investment Legal Counsel / Director, supporting complex investment and finance-related legal matters across a diversified asset portfolio.

This role offers the opportunity to work on multi-asset investment transactions, including securities, real estate, and derivatives, while partnering closely with global legal teams and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring legal compliance and strategic support for investment activities in a highly international environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on investment and finance-related matters across multiple asset classes.
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation for securities, real estate, derivatives, and alternative investments.
• Support finance-related legal matters including cash management and reinsurance transactions.
• Collaborate on cross-border legal projects across Japan, APAC, and global teams.
• Act as a legal business partner, advising internal stakeholders on legal risks and strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years of legal experience in financial institutions or law firms advising financial institutions.
• Experience handling investment or finance-related transactions.
• Experience working in multinational or cross-border environments is preferred.

Soft Skills:

• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with a commercially driven mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with global teams.

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Native level
• English: Business level

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in structured finance, real estate finance, derivatives, or alternative investments
• Japanese or foreign lawyer qualification
• Exposure to insurance-related legal matters
